The 2010 Conference will address a number of practical concerns faced by educators in compliance with the Texas Dyslexia Law:

  1. How can schools effectively evaluate and serve students with dyslexia who are also English Language Learners?


  1. How can schools serve students who aren’t identified as dyslexic until late in their school careers?


  1. What are some inexpensive but effective ways to improve instruction for students with dyslexia?


  1. What is the impact of changes to Section 504 eligibility from the ADA Amendments Act, including the addition of “reading” as a major life activity and the new mitigating measures rule?


  1. How should the school watch for and  address the behavioral concerns that can arise from a student’s dyslexia?


  1. How can the school choose the right dyslexia assessment for a child?
