TrainThumb.gifOn October 12-13, 1998 and March 1-2, 1999 CESD traveled to Little Rock for a pair of two-day Section 504 Conferences designed for Arkansas educators.

The Conferences were underwritten by the Arkansas Department of Education’s Equity Assistance Center, allowing educators to participate for a fraction of the normal conference price.  Participants enjoyed a wide-range of topic sessions from the talented CESD faculty. CESD General Counsel David Richards, attorney Jose Martín, and 504 practitioners Linda Classen and Pat Sekel combined to provide a memorable and informative experience. Arkansas Conference participants had these things to say in their evaluations:

  • “Most beneficial conference ever!... Could not have been better!”
  • “As a district coordinator I feel much more empowered to handle this assignment.
  • “Very good organization and staying on time was excellent”
  • “Definitely worth the two days.”
  • “I liked the way each presenter complimented one another”
  • “The speakers were quite knowledgeable and were great at staying focused, keeping the group focused and sticking to the agenda”
  • “Each presenter had great information to deliver and did it in a manner that held our interest and never became boring.”
  • “Thank you for giving a direction for Section 504. I feel like I've been feeling my way in the dark for the last three years. I see the light!
  • Long overdue for the State of Arkansas.
