Our 12th Annual Southwest Section 504 Conference (we think of it as the “Fall Classic”) is scheduled for November 17-18, 2008 in Austin.

We’ll focus our attention on breaking changes, including Congress’ revision of the Americans with Disabilities Act (The ADA Amendments Act of 2008) and the possible impact of those changes on the K-12 Section 504 world (especially with respect to child find and the Section 504 FAPE). We will also provide an update on transportation, re-evaluations, Texas rules on regular education homebound, allergies and asthma, parent rights, common school errors, and a slew of other interesting issues. As always, we’ve created a rookie track so folks new to Section 504 get a good foundation (including sessions on eligibility, discipline, and other basics), and the revised CESD Section 504 forms are in every conference notebook.
