Aloha! In late October and early November 2001, Dave Richards & Jose Martin from CESD took the show on the road to the beautiful islands of Hawaii.

In a combined effort by the Hawaii Department of Education, together with the 7 Hawaiian school districts, attorneys David Richards & Jose Martin presented a series of seven full-day 504 workshops on Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island of Hawaii. Each workshop was tailored to the interests and concerns of the hosting school district, including topics such as eligibility, 504-special education differences, discipline, nondiscrimination duties, advanced issues and updates.

We were well received, here’s a sample of some of the rave reviews.

  • When asked to state one new thought or idea learned from the conference, a participant wrote: “That learning about laws can actually be interesting.”
