We'll only be gathering virtually this year...
Despite our best efforts and those of our long-time friends at the Austin Doubletree, we are unable to provide live conferences this year that will accommodate our growing number of attendees while ensuring their safety and that of speakers and staff. All of our fall events, including the preconferences, will only be available virtually.
Every year a new group of educators are assigned dyslexia responsibilities and ask for basic information to get started. Sometimes educators have the reading background but not the necessary background on federal disability law with respect to IDEA and Section 504 Child Find. Sometimes, educators need some additional basic information on dyslexia and reading. Unfortunately our main conference sessions don't focus much on the basics. We created this half-day to get you up to speed prior to the main conference.
PreConference Sessions (75 minutes each)
Dyslexia 101—Mary Yarus, Dyslexia Consultant, ESC IV.
The Intersection of Section 504, IDEA & the Texas Dyslexia Law—Jose Martin, Attorney at Law, Richards Lindsay & Martin, LLP, Austin, Texas.
